Chinese late Qing to early Republic period lacquered leather official’s hat box with round base and conical cover painted overall in leafy polychrome flowers and gilt highlights set against a burgundy ground. The cover fully lifts off to reveal an interior covered in blue silk. The burgundy base has two oval openings at the center that appear to be designed to facilitate carrying with fingers or tying for transport. Circa 1900 to early 20th century. 11” high x 13 1/2" diameter...

The first one with brown and blue design on white background, is decorated with floral and geometric designs, the latter including Buddhist symbols (Svastika and Eternal Knot). Pair of Baba-Nyonya leather and pearl shoes. China around 1900. This type of leather shoes sewn with pearls(probably in glass)were worn by the Chinese living in Southeast Asia, particularly in Singapore. These Chinese immigrants for centuries are called in China the Baba Nyonya, they are the "Straits Chinese". Over time they have adapted culturally to the host country while keeping a large part of their original culture...

Opium box of rounded rectangular shape, decorated with an embossed design all over its body representing a noble man in front of a house in the company of two women, a floral decor, Chinese characters and a geometric design. The lid itself is decorated with an embossed feminine figure (a dancer) surmounted by a bat. The box is made of copper with a fine age patina. China, end of 19th century. Height: 5.6 cm. Very good condition.

This type of drinking horn was a common household item used throughout Mongolia...each family member had his (or her) own drinking horn and they were kept on a wooden rack which was made for that purpose... Chinese carved Wood Rice Cake Mold, early 1900's, 9 1/2" high, 3 1/2" wide, 2" deep, deep hand carving of Long Life and Happiness Chinese Characters, with nice dark brown natural wood shape, and old polished finish. Brass hook on top for hanging on the wall for decoration. The condition is good.
