This is a beautiful, intricately carved pendant depicting a pair of facing dragons, dating to the period from 1644-1912. It measures 2-3/4" (6.8cm) in height and is 2" (5cm) at its widest point. The stone is greyish-green showing some alterations in the stone, consistent with age...

It depicts a large bird with a long tail, possibly a phoenix or pheasant, and crest perched on an intricately carved wooden stand. In Chinese culture, the phoenix (Fenghuang) is a powerful symbol of balance, strength, and marital harmony when paired with a dragon. Wooden stand is very well carved.
