A FINE SONG DYNASTY POT WITH BLACK-BROWN GLAZE, 14TH CENTURY, CHINA. THE GLAZE ONLY COVERS ABOUT HALF OF THE POT, THE REMAINDER IS UNGLAZED. THIS POT WAS FOUND IN THE MUSI RIVER, CLOSE TO PALEMBANG CITY, WHICH WAS THE CAPITAL OF THE SRIVIJAYA KINGDOM AND WHICH HAD A VAST TRADE NETWORK WITH CHINA AND SIAM. OVERALL CONDITION VERY GOOD, ONE HARDLY NOTICEABLE, TINY INCONSEQUENTIAL CHIP ON THE TOP RIM. SIZE: HEIGHT 7.5 cm x 7 cm diameter.

A rare glazed, genuine SONG/YUAN glazed Celadon pot with molded flowers/foliage and 2 loops, 14th Century. The bottom glazed area also has a fine and rare molded flower motif. The foot itself remained unglazed. Diameter 7.5 cm x height 6 cm. This fine and rare Celadon was found in the Musi river, close to Palembang City, which was the Capital of the SRIVIJAYA KINGDOM, and which had a vast trade network with China and Siam. Overall condition good.

A heavily potted porcelain jar, made in two horizontal parts, with an underglaze blue floral decoration. South Chinese work from the 16th/17th century. H. 21 cm, D. 19 cm. Condition: very good, no damage or repairs, the glaze is a bit dull and has craquelé because this jar was excavated and spent 4 centuries under the soil. Provenance: in my private collection since I found this jar in Beijing in the late 90’s.

This pieces was made at Jingdezhen kiln famous for blue & white ware and exported to Japan where people loved blue & white ware called "Kosome" in Japan. It has auspicious patterns, beautiful blue color. And it has tiny roughness on the edge of mouth, however it is a character of works made at Jingdezhen kiln, Japanese people loved them because they didn't like perfectness. Chinese Tang Dynasty Glazed Pottery Groom Figure (12")

This pottery figure was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is "heavily-potted" and made from a pale pinkish-coloured pottery that is relatively highly-fired. The body is coated in an attractive golden yellow / amber glaze that is very finely-crackled. In places the surface has acquired a silvery iridescence, a result of long burial in damp conditions...

Ancient Chinese jade figure of a kneeling anthropomorphic creature. Angular face with large, almond-shaped eyes and two dragon-like curling ear/horns. The body of the figure appears human with hands resting on bent knees and feet tucked under. Carved of pale green jade with orange rind and striations. The back is pierced for a chord to suspend or sew to clothing. Considered precious, carvings like this one were passed down through generations before finally being buried with the owner...
