A genuine maskette from the Hongshan culture, dating to circa 3000BCE. The piece is made from a pale greenish nephrite with a slight yellowish cast. It measures some 2-1/2" in height and 1-3/4" at its widest (6cm X 4cm). Please examine the high resolution photographs as they are part of the description.The piece shows unmistakable signs of age. This is a genuine, archaic, neolithic item and not a later modern copy.
