Very Rare Chinese Warring States Lacquered Wooden Ear Cup

This very rare survivor is a lacquered wooden "ear cup" (a food or wine vessel) from the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It has been coated in a dark brown, red and pale yellowish lacquers with geometric patterns to the "ears" and inner mouth. Ear cups from this period tend to be larger and with more elaborate handles (or "ears") than those from the later Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8).

Very Rare Large Chinese Warring States Lacquered Wooden Ear Cup

This very rare survivor is a lacquered wooden "ear cup" (a food or wine vessel) from the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC).
