Antique Chinese tall wardrobe cabinet, made all of jumu (elm) wood with very beautiful grain, middle bar has been attached to door so that the cabinet opens with clear access to interior, inside has one shelf with two small drawers of jumu wood finished on the front to match the exterior of cabinet, bottom has one large drop in panel that locks with key, 19th century. A large and exceedingly rare work by Kiyomizu Rokubei V (Rokuwa, 1875-1959) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. In relief are scrolling vines and flowers in white and pale blue on a soft porous pink glaze. For a nearly identical work see the collection of the Kyoto Municipal Museum of Modern Art, or the book Kiyomizu Rokuwa (1977) figure 60 (dated 1923). The vessel is 42 cm tall, 28 cm diameter and in fine condition. The box is stained quite dark with age.

This antique Chinese lotus shaped serving tray is elaborately inlayed with Mother of Pearl. The MOP design covers the surface of the tray and also goes about the exterior face of the narrow rim. Wood is most likely ebony and tray dates from mid 18th century.

Condition: All the MOP inlay is intact but there are numerous tiny nicks and chips in the surface finish on the inside and outside edges of the rim surround. Most of these nicks can only be seen when the edges are caught in a specific ligh...

Just simply stunning, this beautiful Chinese Asian celadon vase dates to the 14th century, it is in perfect shape save a small piece of broken shard that attached itself when some other vessel exploded in the kiln. Other than that, no cracks, hairlines, or other damage is found. Notice the comb lines and well potted sleek. Measures 4 inches high and about 2.5" at widest.
