Set of four Canton enamel cups & saucers and one bowl. Finely painted with flower scrolls on yellow ground in "Famille rose" palette and little gold. Interior of the bowl and bottom of the saucers enamelled in pink. Condition: fine, unless minor hairlines and few tiny chips, one saucer's bottom with enamel loss. Dimension: bowl: diameter: c. 9 x 5.3 cm high, saucers diameter: c. 11.3 cm, cups: diameter: c. 6.8 x 5.1 cm high.

This is an absolutely rare black Seto chawan ( setoguro chawan ) from the Edo Period.

Blackish-brown glaze amalgamates with a wild and roughly thrown body and a still vivid and strong Seto Glaze. It is very heavy for a tea bowl, 503g. Please note that there is also an interesting kiln mark.

A Fuchi and Kashira set with flowers decoration with gold and silver overlay decoration on shakudo relief and nanako ground. Good, serviceable condition (a small, fine line fracture from the rim of the fuchi not at all compromising function or presentation.) An easy motif to match if fitting a sword (we may do so if not first selling them.) Fuchi length, 1 17/32 inches (3.89 cm)

A kozuka with gilt and silvered bronze decoration of a general's baton and banner on dark patinated bronze nanako ('fish roe' textured ground.) The utility knife handle with shakudo (a pickled gold and copper alloy) back and sides. Surfaces showing wear and slight distress from use but in fairly good and serviceable condition. Solid gold, silver, shibuichi and sentoku inlaid shakudo tsuba. The setting presents us with a Japanese warrior slaying an enemy wearing foreign armor that seems to be Chinese or even Mongol.
