The images span from Mount fuji to the Daruma to Zen Circles, each annotated with some verse or Buddhist anecdote. However there is a subtlety because in some places only the vertical strips are painted and not the horizontal ones which shows us colored squares alternating with unpainted squares which gives a blurred effect anticipating our "pixels" and which, I think, gave the illusion of a woven fabric.
