From our Chinese Monochrome Collection, a fine carved jade image of Guanyin, late 19th- early 20th century, depicting the deity with a wonderful serene expression in a variation of Royal Ease mudra while sitting upon a rockwork base, and cradling a ruyi sceptre in her right arm. The jade is of pale olive tone with russet colored highlights and is rather substantial in heft, weighing almost 1.4 pounds.

A Fine Chinese Carved Blue Overlay Glass Snuff Bottle, 1800~1850. The bottle of opaque white glass with snow-like inclusions, cased in blue glass. The blue glass is carved away to leave the Eight Horses of Mu Wang in a continuous landscape. The carving is very fine indeed. The stopper is hardstone with an ivory collar and spoon.

A well potted rouleau vase finely decorated with famille verte enamel, depicting Zhongkui gathering with his younger sister in a garden, not far from them under a sycamore tree, a goblin is taking care of Zhongkui's nephew. A fine Japanese porcelain plate, the centre painted with a pair of Ho-o birds perched on rocks amongst flowers. There are several versions of this design featuring different borders. This border is unusual, it features three Ming-style elephant headed dragons and a profusion of blooms.
