Antique Japanese Satsuma ware ceramic incensor. Cylindrical form standing on 3 rounded feet and with a flat, round lid. The lid is opened with a decorative tassel design with a pierced design for the incense smoke to escape. Overpainting is done in orange, green and gold over a delicately crackled cream color glaze. With antique collector's adhesive number.

Antique Japanese small zushi (traveler's shrine) with unusual scene of Buddha seated on a lotus throne which rises out of billowing waves. Below him, two lords stand on top of the water while smaller lotuses bloom around them. Carved of wood with painted and lacquered details.

1900's Chinese Flambe Peachbloom Glazed Porcelain Jar with Dragon

It is 13.1 inches (33.4 cm) tall by 10.3 inches (26.2 cm) wide. It is 11.7 Lb.

It has dark spots, skip glaze, glaze crazing, hairline cracks, a hole at the bottom and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Set of three large identical keman, made of gilt bronze. Decorative hangings from a Buddhist temple.

Each keman is fan-shaped (or perhaps boar's eye-shaped) with a design of two pairs of double chrysanthemum family crests set between karakusa (winding weeds) in openwork. The knotted cord in the center is executed in gilt bronze repoussé (hollow underneath). The openwork design is very carefully executed, with engraved details and nanako ground.

He is represented with six heads (three large, three small), six legs and six arms that are holding the different attributes, while he is sitting on the back of a reclining long-horned buffalo. Antique Japanese Red Raku Tea Bowl (Chawan) made by Waraku during Meiji period (1868-1912).
The seal of the potter is stamped at the bottom.

Waraku started producing Raku wares around 1830 in Kyoto and now Motoo Kawasaki is the 8th generation of Waraku.
Raku pottery is traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremony since as early as the 16th century.

An antique Japanese rare 2 section Butsudan (Buddhist Altar) hand made with elaborate Makie lacquerwork. Upper section has two large hinged doors decorated with a blooming Peony tree. The interior of the doors each feature a Buddhist diety, one holding a mushroom scepter with a Baku at his feet and the other studying a horizontal scroll with a Shishi (Foo dog) at his feet. Below the doors are three small drawers where Buddhist accoutrements were stored. The interior was lacquered in gold.

An antique Japanese Byosho Bako (peddler's chest) made of Hinoki (Cypress) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware. Two loop rings where a carrying rope was once attached allowing the merchant to carry this chest on his back. The hinged door opens to 5 drawers used for the storage of wares for sale. A few small ink stains on the upper surface attests to the merchant using the top as a writing surface when writing sales.

An antique Japanese Choba Tansu (merchant chest) entirely made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. In the Biraki style, it features two hinged doors that hide 12 drawers for the storage and organization of store records, papers and wares. Hand forged iron hardware and interior drawer pulls featuring escutcheons symbolizing Satsuma where this chest originated. Carrying handles on each side and all the drawers were lacquered front and back in Urushi.

An antique Japanese Tohoku Todana Mizuya Tansu made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Original wiped Urushi lacquer finish.
