$6,000.00 Antique Japanese small and detailed wood carving of standing Buddhist attendant figure. Gracefully positioned on a rocky out cropping, the male figure, possibly a Bosatsu himself exudes a sense of calm strength. Flowing drapery is carved with movement and intricately painted with mineral colors.
Age: Edo Period (1603-1868) Dimensions: 9" high x 4 1/2" wide x 3" deep.

Dragon's Pearl
$350.00 A fine and unusual brush rest in the shape of a dragon-fish or some similar mythological animal. Carved of what appears to be boxwood with a dark-reddish lacquer coating. On the bottom side an illegible signature in raised relief consisting of two Chinese characters. Qing, probably second half of 18th cent. L 15 cm. Condition: Fine all-over, but with wear due to age & handling.
Chinese Qing dynasty bronze censer or incense burner. 18cm wide . 14 cm body diameter. 12,2cm mouth rim diameter. 2542 gram wight with the stand. Original condition.
Width approximately 19.5 cm. There is a hairline at the back of the cover, not fully visible at the front. There is no leaks at the teapot. In good condition.
Width approximately 11.4 cm. There is a soft dent at the body. In good condition.
Height approximately 12.2 cm. There are two chips at the rim. There is one chip at the base. In good condition.

It is decorated with curtain front cut-out panels that have a central snow lion carving and it is surrounded by beautiful articulated cloud formation. On the outer frame, it has a pho bamboo carving and beyond that is a scrolling lotus motif. Straight down the front, there is an inverted foot with a key fret pattern based with a horse hoof buffer.

SOLD Antique Japanese jizai-kagi in the form of swirling clouds. In a Japanese home, water in a kettle or pot is heated over an irori (sunken hearth). The jizai hook hangs from a strong ceiling beam. From this, a long device is suspended with a hook on the end that can be adjusted up or down by moving the jizai-kagi. Often these are carved in the form of a fish. This unusual jizai-kagi is carved of kayaki (zelkova elm) wood with a dark patina from hearth smoke. Mounted on a custom metal stand.
