A Chinese porcelain jar finished with beautiful flambe glaze. A six characters "Daqing Qianlong Nianzhi" mark is on the bottom inside the foot rim, probably made in 19th century. Condition: the foot rim is ground, no other flaw other than this. Height: 7-3/8"; diameter: approx. 8".

This is a great example Meiji Era satsuma. It is probably my favorite piece from Shizan. The colors are rich and the detail is fantastic. It stands 4 3/4 inches tall. This Ewer is in nearly perfect condition.

A famille rose enameled porcelain plate decorated with dragons, phoenix, crane, butterflies and other motifs on coral-red ground, a six character red enamel "Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" mark is on the bottom. This plate was one of the party wares with similar designs made for Emperor Guangxu's wedding in 1888. The plate is in excellent condition beside some scratches on enamel - no chip, no hairline and no restoration. Diameter: 9"

A very rare and unusual large Chinese scroll painting done in the Japanese style of a bird in a cage with a bamboo tree and netting. Some gold leaf work on the leaves. A small Korean personal chest with dramatic Elm hardwood front panels. The top set of doors opens to an inner compartment with carved hardwood border, and six small drawers. The middle doors and lower drop-down lid open to a large compartment lined in Korean paper. The upper and lower set of doors are book-matched so the natural woodgrain appears to mirror itself. The piece is fully detailed with brass hardware and plates.

Splendid and absolutely rare double vase of old Karatsu-yaki. It has a vivid Chosen-Karatsu glaze, and the grandiose embellishment of color creates a sublime sense of tension between the dark glazed and color infusion.

This very decorative vase was made around the mid 19th century (late Edo Period).

Very good antique condition with only a light crack of glaze on the back of the white top, which enforces the all over wabi-sabi look.

Japanese set of 10 blue and white sobachoko or soba cups. With cobalt blue underglaze floral motifs and ocean landscapes, double ring below the inner rim, and a floral medallion in the center of the well with single ring. The foot is slightly recessed and left unglazed except for the center.
