Six(6) Japanese Imari Porcelain Soba Noodle Cups, Ca. mid 1800's, late Edo or Early Meiji period, 2 3/8" diameter-top rim, 1 3/4" high, decorated with blue and white and some green and red, Lotus, Peony and some other floral and foliage in the Rock Garden. One(1) glaze hairline on the cup, outside only, not inside, two(2) or three(3) frits on the rim of the cup.

Incredible Antique Japanese kannon biraki tansu (storage chest with hinged doors) made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood with original deep brown lacquer finish. The interior consists of 10 drawers of various sizes made all of kiri (paulownia) wood. Each drawer has a square lock (with key) and warabite shaped drawer pulls. Extensive hand forged iron hardware on the exterior includes 9 hinges on each door, cross bracing and two locks (with key). Original finish and condition.

A nicely shaped plate with floral design with bat and peach motif painted on the underside for good luck. Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Nyonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: 19.5 x 13.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

A large and very expressive, ceramic figure of sitting shishi, lion-dog, with turned head. It is covered in a creamy, white crackled glaze. A large Persian textile "Suzani" which literally means "needlework". The cotton cloth is hand-embroidered with complex floral medallions and scrolling work with brightly colored silk thread. These traditional Suzani would be used for headscarves, ottoman covers, prayer mats, wall hangings, and many other uses.

This is a traditional Qing Dynasty woman's skirt. Chines skirts during this time period were made in 2 sections which were "buttoned" together with "frogs" The skirt was then wrapped around the hips so that the flat sections were displayed at at the front and back....the pleated sections were at draped the sides...
