The detacheable central Tirthankara surrounded by other Tirthankaras, two elephants holding his princely parasol, his throne supported by two lions. On the back there is a lengthy inscription, holding the date 1674 in Samvat, which is 1617 in the Western calendar. The shrine is inlaid all over with silver. H. 28 cm, W. 19 cm. Condition: some old damage and an old repair to the thinly cast back of the stand. Otherwise in wonderful original condition.

This Mughal piece was made of a zinc alloy inlaid with flower patterns of silver and brass. A similar huqqa base in the book "Bidri Ware, inlaid metalwork from India" by Susan Stronge is dated in the first half of the 18th century. H. 18 cm. Diameter 16 cm. Kraak porcelain export dish from the Wanli period (1573-1619). Diameter 14,8 cm. , H. 4,5 cm. Condition: very minor flea bites to the rim, a 6 mm rough spot in the glaze on the rim, probably a firing flaw. No cracks or repairs. Some oven sand attached to the foot rim.

This beautiful chawan (tea bowl) was made in the oribe style, a more than four hundred year old tradition from the central part of Japan in the ancient Mino province.

That tradition was in part influenced by tea master and warrior Furuta Oribe (1545-1615) who developed his own style of tea ceremony. The bowl is very well made and in perfect condition. It dates from the mid Edo Period and has no repairs or damages except inborn kiln cracks. The green glaze is very vivid and strong.
