$5,000.00 A rare antique Japanese Sakata Funa Tansu (Captain's chest for uniform storage) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. All original Urushi lacquer finish and hand forged iron hardware including the Hirute exterior handles and the Warabite interior handles. Lift-off security door opens to two drawers where the captain's uniform would have been stored. Fully framed in iron.

This is beautiful Japanese Kin Yo (Jun ware) vase by renown Japanese Potter, Akira Yamazaki (5th son of 1st Koyo Yamazaki 1890-1979 ) The vase has beautiful Jun Ware replica finish with Jun glazing on stoneware body. It came with Firwood Tomobako. The cover has Japanese writing, "Kin Yo (Jun Ware) Tsubo(vase)". Akira saku (made) with his chop seal. The condition of vase excellent. No chip, no crack and no hai... Antique Japanese set of four lotus leaves and blossoms. Carved of wood and lacquered silver. Made for a Buddhist altar, these leaves and blossoms symbolize the stages of the path toward enlightenment. Every petal of the lotus flower is carved separately. Each blossom and leaf comes fitted with a custom metal stand so they can be rearranged at will.
Age: Taisho Period Dimensions: approx 26"hight (tallest leaf) Antique Japanese pair of jingasa, hats worn by samurai or foot soldiers. Lacquered black and marked with the mon (family crest) of the Ogasawara clan. The Ogasawara were descended from Seiwa Genji. They acted as shugo, governing Shinamo Provence during the Sengoku Period (1185-1600). This pair of hats dates to the Edo Period (1608-1867) when the Ogasawara were daimyo (feudal lords) of territories on Kyushu.

All original Urushi lacquer finish and hand forged iron hardware including the Hirute style handles. Four drawers of varying sizes and a hinged door that secured 2 small drawers where valuables were kept. This would make a great side chest or a compact dresser for a small bedroom.
