Sold, Thank you! Birds chatter, perhaps excited by the promise of Spring from the plum blossoms peeking out of a bamboo grove, winters snow melts and trickles through the stones in the stream belwo. A two panel screen, ink and light color on gold by Mizuta Chikuho (1883-1958). An excellent example of this artists Nanga style, the subject and rich wet lines of the bamboo crisp and direct, fading to washes of gray in the shadows. The screen measures 68 x 68 inches (172 x 173 cm) and is in fine condition.

Sold Koryo dynasty olive toned celadon bowl with a large, impressed peony decoration inside the bowl and incised fine line around the inside of the foliate rim. The body thinly potted but strong as in the manner of Chinese Yingqing wares of the same period. Sold to Taiwan - December 2011 售至台湾 - 2011年 12月 A rare pale greenish jade, Ming dynasty, brush washer with finely carved hardwood stand. This item was made during late 16th / early 17th Century, probably during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619). Condition - very good - there a chip to a petal of the flower at centre of enlargement 7 - no further damages and no restoration. 10cm (3.9 inches) across.
