A gilt silver plaque was well decorated with motifs of QiLinSongZi, a most popular Chinese metaphor of the fairy animal Qilin sending child to the vowing family. By characteristic Chinese scenes of pagoda, plum trees, Qilin and the figure riding through the water waves, the picturesque scene was well carved and chiseled by excellent craftsmanship. It was a piece most likely a buckle on the cloth belt. There're old drilling holes on four corners for sewing thread.

Sold to UK - August 2011 售至英国 - 2011年8月 A 16th/17th Century eight-sided bronze censer (incense burner) made in China during the late Ming dynasty (circa 1550-1644). Condition, very good - two of the feet have been secured by rivets one with an associated split and there is a small 0.8cm long thin gap below the rim - all possibly dating to the time of manufacture (please view enlargements 7,8 and 9). Dimensions - 14cm (5.5inches) across; 8.5cm (3.3inches) high.

The base carries the six-character reign mark of the Xuande emperor but this item was made later during the 17th or 18th Century. Condition - excellent. Dimensions - 24cm (9.5inches) wide; 14cm (5.5inches) high. Weight 4.4 kilos (9.7 pounds).
