Two Kome-bukuro (rice bag) made of cotton fragments which are hand-spun and vegetable indigo dye. They are stripes, kasuri and fine katazome (stencil-resist dye). Both have writing with sumi, Echizenya, the shop's name and "Hane" which is located in Shimane prefecture facing to the Japan Sea. Jar with pouring spout serving as an important ewer for tea, wine or water. Decor of a dragon energetically painted in underglaze cobalt blue, its eagle claws widely deployed. 4 sturdy handles allow you to hang the ewer. Impressive large standing wood sculpture of He Xiangu何仙姑- the only women in the pantheon of the Eight Chinese Immortals. This is at least Qing dynasty possibly earlier originally she would be holding a lotus in her hands. Once source describes her as being “the Patron Saint of Housewives”. Height: 97cm/38in and has a lovely benevolent expression. Condition as pictured, there is a dedication niche on back but the contents have been removed.

Quite a unique old traditional Japanese Fushimi ningyo clay doll, together with too small boy? or too big baby?, 19th century, 26 x 13.5 x H 20 cm (10.23 x 5.31 x 7.87in), with the engraved sign at the bottom seemed to be the one of 'Ikaruga Kouemon' as the Edo period's master Fushimi doll craftsman, but not sure.
