An Indonesian Mask carved in the form of a monkey. The mask is carved into two separate section, one is the top area of the head and the bottom is the jaw area. The mask is attached with a head covering made from strips of leather. The islands of Java and Bali are the two key regions that have the art of mask dancing often depicting religious stories. A pair of Chinese semi precious stone crafted into a small magnolia tree. The tree is planted in a Chinese cloisonne pot. The container's body has a lovely blue background with abstracted lotus design, old gilt on edges. The entire tree is crafted as if an actual plant is planted in the pots.The cloisonne appears to be late 19th century. The semiprecious stones are of a later vintage. An antique Chinese red brocade panel decorated with auspicious motifs. In the central section, the brocade is decorated with repeating pattern of children where one is holding a musical instrument known as a sheng and the other is holding a toy-like object. Antique Japanese Noh mask of the O-beshimi fierce deity, or mythical tengu. "Beshimi" means "mouth clamped shut". This mask is hand-carved from kiri wood, and inside you can see the chisel marks left behind by the artist. There are visible traces of white gesso in the crevices of the face, which was used as a filler to cover the wood grain. Edo period, 19th century Size: 9.5" tall, 7" wide

A pair of two different paintings depicting different views of people either engaged in different activities. One scene appears to show a soldier like figure coming back or meeting a lady and another scene is depicting a family at leisure. Particular elements have elements similar to Chinese theatrical costuming and designs. The techniques are more Western since these works were made in Guangzhou in the Canton concessions. An interesting set of two Chinese Canton paintings depicting two festival scenes that were possibly seen on the streets in China during the Qing dynasty. The top view depicts a figure riding a horse and people are flocking to receive blessings. The bottom scene is showing a theatrical troupe passing by. Cute porcelain snuff bottle delicately carved in the shape of a smiling man sitting atop a pile of leaves, wearing a blue robe with gold flecks and creases and magenta bottoms, holding a peach, with a gourd bottle strapped around his back. The topper is carved from coral and resembles the cap of the gourd bottle. 19th century Size: 2.5" tall, .85" wide

Chinese famille rose porcelain tea cups, each with pink and white chrysanthemums with outstretched stems and leaves in pastel greens, a light aubergine band around the rim with small flowers and leaves in curling designs, and a light blue half-star design underneath. Each teacup is stamped underneath with the Hongxian Nian Zhi mark, early 20th century. Size: 2.25" tall, 3" wide

Wooden carving of Daruma or Bodhidharma, a Buddhist monk who lived in the 5th or 6th century CE. He is depicted as ill-tempered and is shown here with a deep frown as he meditates. This Daruma carving is painted with red, bronze, and gold lacquer paint and appears to have once been mounted as the top and bottom have holes carved into them and a metal rod going through it to be affixed to a structure, most likely a lamp. Meiji period 19th century. Size: 13" height, 11" length

Very interesting and unusual Tibetan Thangka (also known as a scroll painting) depicting the bhavacakra, or wheel of life, representing samsara (cyclic existence).
