Rare Chinese Warring States Small Pottery Bottle / Vase (475 - 221 BC)

This attractively-shaped bottle, with its wide body, constricted neck, and wide mouth, was made during the Warring States period (475 - 221 BC). It is "heavily-potted" and made from a fine-grained grey pottery with a smooth burnished surface..

Height 14 cm. Overall condition is very good although there is what appears to be a filled firing crack to the shoulder of the bottle.

Lightning splits the roiling clouds inside this silver glazed sake cup by Nakashima Katsuko enclosed in the original singed wooden box titled simply Hai. The inside is smooth porcelain decorated in blue and gold, while outside nubs lie under the silver, entertainment for the fingers while drinking. Small Chinese Tang Dynasty Pottery Recumbent Horse

This small pottery model of a recumbent horse was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in a white pigment. Note the detail of the horse's mane and its legs tucked under its body. Length 14 cm. No obvious sign of any repair - good condition.

Japanese vase of convex shape, Totai decoration of a bird and a butterfly among leaves and berry bushes. The motif created by thin metal threads is filled in with colored lacquer and polished. The brown lacquer background is carved as to resemble tree bark (totai). DESCRIPTION: A Chinese Hill Tribe necklace, handmade of alternating coral colored beads and silver repousse lappets, strung on two lengths of woven silver chain with hook clasp. A very attractive short necklace dating from the early to mid 20th Century. In very good condition and a nice example of ethnographic Chinese tribal jewelry. DIMENSIONS: 9” drop when clasped; lappets are 1” long each.

Large Sukhothai plate, 14th-16th century, with fish in under-glaze iron black and banded mottled decoration around rim and underside. Exposed spur marks and glaze has been compromised, especially on one side and some chipping to rim. Diameter: 11.50 inches; height: 2.50 inches.

This is a bronze miniature figure of Sri-Lakshmi, a Hindu goddess from 16th-18th century India. The figure stands in a sensual tribhanga pose on a round base over a square plinth. Her right arm is extended, and her left arm is raised with a lotus blossom.

She wears a long dhoti with incised foliate patterns and an elaborate pendant belt.

She is also adorned with jewelry and a breast band, and her hair is piled into a high chignon.

A fine pair of small jars, with their lid. Jade, of light celadon color, with inclusions, particularly on one of them with reddish color. China, Qing Dynasty, 18th century. Height: 3.5 cm. Diameter: 4 cm. Tiny chips on the rims (barely visible), otherwise very good condition.
