A ten sided double bodied Yixing stoneware teapot decorated in Scholar's Taste and bearing an inscription in white enamel which reads "Ba Dou Gao Cai" ( which can translate as "Full of Talent") and with "Tian Gong" ("Heavenly Palace" or "Paradise") under pink enamel.

This item was made from Zisha clay in Yixing, China, during the late 19th or early 20th Century.

Condition: the single cover has a piece missing and has been broken and glued; no further damages and no restoration.

The ferrule and tip are both crafted from turned wood while natural bristles form the full brush. In excellent condition, this is a handsome, well made brush dating from the early 20th C. Lovely little Inaba white cloisonne box with a silver finish. The lid features flowers in a rocky garden setting and inside the box is engraved with flowers. Marked with Inaba logo on base bottom, it is also maked inside with the logo and the words "Made in Japan". In excellent condition, it measures 3.5 by 3 inches, and 1.5" high. Dates mid 20th C.

An unusual Arita blue & white porcelain plate, circa 1700 - 1750. A smaller dish with similar moulded and gadrooned edge and border of spiky foliage is in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. FE.66-1970. An identical dish, dated from the first half of the 18th century is kept at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

The base with an apocryphal Chinese Ming Chenghua reign mark and 5 spur marks.

A finely detailed Chinese porcelain rooster in a rich blue turquoise glaze with his comb and wattle, as well as the rock form base, glazed in a deep aubergine. In excellent condition, it measures 10.25" high, 7" long.

Please note: Any brown or white spots in photos are reflections, especially in the 2nd photograph where it looks brown at the base of the rooster's comb. It is not brown, it is purple. The reflection is coming from a brown bench behind the photographer.
