Colors and metal pigments chipping, otherwise good condition. Because of the cold application, the colors are fragile and easily wash away.

Rare subject matter

Okame standing in blue over-kimono with a sweet and cheerful facial expression. Her garment falls open a little, showing a red colored underkimono or liner, indicating her profession. Cradled in her arms is a large matsudake mushroom. The shape of the mushroom has a close resemblance to a penis and the sculpture definitely has an erotic meaning.

A very fine and rare genuine brass and copper antique THAI FLOWER OFFERING TRAY. 19th Century, with extensive flower and vine scrolling décor. Good condition. Height 9 cm x 10 cm top diameter.

Baby's yogi which is one kind of bed cloth, a top cover in the shape of kimono. It has cotton cloth with katazome (stencil-resist-dye) for outside and indigo cotton for the lining. It has thick cotton inside for warmth and was used in the cold district or in winter. It is from Fukushima prefecture in Tohoku district. In good condition but has some light stains in the wrists and mending patches in the top shoulder. The first half of the 20th century. 92cm x 88cm

Nicely cast ritual spoon, with a highly detailed statue on its top representing Hindu god Krishna standing on a stylised lotus and playing his flute, with a cow behind him. The spoon itself is decorated with two birds on its sides and a geometric design at its back. Copper with nice green patina. India, early 19th century. Height: 14.8 cm. The spoon is mounted on a custom stand to enhance its beauty. A rather rare piece of this size and condition.

Chinese Tang dynasty (618-907 A.D.) brown glazed wine jar with cup decorated around the rim with two stylized opposing dragons. The cup rests upside down over the circular opening on top. The jar measures about 8 1/4" high to the top of the dragons. The cup is nearly 3” diameter. Very good overall condition with wear and glaze degradation consistent with its age and use.
