A nicely decorated Japanese porcelain Satsuma bowl, with scalloped edge, showing groups of women and men and Buddhist Monks. Vintage Chinese ink and color on paper painting by Zhang Kuan (1921-2009) of two ducks swimming among cherry blossoms. Signed in black ink at the upper left and with three red artist's seals. Zhang Kuan was an active painter for over 50 years. By the 1960s, he began to specialize in bird and flower paintings. Including the silk mounting, the painting measures 32 1/2” x 21 3/4” (painting: 26 1/2” x 17 7/8”). Very good overall condition. From a Phoenix, Arizona collection.

A pair of nicely formed hollow glazed pottery birds. Both have round plump figures and lots of character. The darker bird has two glazes - a brown splash of glaze that runs over a straw glaze. The lighter bird has a celadon colored glaze. The glaze on both birds have a very fine crackle.

Period: Tang (7th-10th Century)

Very finely detailed Chinese porcelain shallow bowl or dish dating around 1850. In excellent condition, it has only one tiny old chip or fret on the lip. Measures just under 5.5 inches in diameter and just over 1.25" high.

An antique Japanese Hibachi with Maki-E gilt lacquer and inlay in a melon shape made of kiri wood. The gilt lacquer designs are of a bird in peonies and ivy trailing around the edge. Gilt nashiji flakes and inlay add depth to the nature scene. Interior has an old patina.
