An antique okinawan incense container decorated with a lacquer and inlayed mother of pearl depicting a dragon appearing from clouds. Circa 19th Century. Mother-of-pearl inlay, which is known Raden in Japan was first introduced to Japan during Nara period (710-784). The technique was popularly used with lacquer for artworks such as instruments. It is in good condition with tiny loss of inlayed mother of pearl. The piece accompanied a poulownia wood store box.

Chinese low rectangular table, made of jumu (elm) wood with beautiful dramatic grain, inset with large rectangular piece of dark gray slate carved with design of scholar objects and archaic motifs, stone is protected by glass which is also inset into the table. Size: 19" high x 46 1/4" wide x 30 3/4" deep. (size of table top: 45 3/4" wide x 30" deep.)

One very lovely hat stand painted with rich bright colors and exhibiting a scene from the red chamber. Genuine Chinese porcelain hat stands are getting hard to find these days. We date this lovely example to about 1910. Measures 11.5" x 5".

Unusual motted jade snuff bottle with red coral and turquoise lid. The lid is carved with a dragon and topped with a small piece of turquoise. It measures 2" tall.

Influenced by the Chinese Transitional porcelain this dish shows in the center a bridge with a farmer and two cows. On the back a single spur mark. Condition: fine, little wear, foot rim with a small loss (production flaw). Dimension: diameter: 21.3 cm, weight: 396 g. Without wooden stand.

A Fukagawa porcelain 11 3/4 inch long covered tureen. Iris decoration from Chuji Fukagawa's own 19th century design book. Blue underglaze and red, yellow and gold overglaze enamel decoration including butterflys inside the cover. Mt. Fuji mark inside the foot ring and Mt Fuji with Fukagawa Sei inside the cover. Japanese lacquered tray with the view of Tagonoura and Mt. Fuji with various Japanese motifs surrounding the image. Taka makie is used to create the effect on Mt. Fuji and hira makie is used to paint the motifs surrounding the landscape. On the bottom is the name of the studio: Sato. Age: Late 19th to early 20th century. Chinese Conch Shell shape Sancai Monochrome three colored Ceramic Brush Washer with a green Frog resting on top of the Conch Shell and drinking and swallowing brush washer water out of conch shell dish, Ca. 19th century, late 1800's, 2 3/4" high-maximum measurement, 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" wide. The opening of the shell is 2 3/4" x 1 3/4" wide. The Sancai glaze is beautifully spread out with few firing glaze cracks about 1/2" to 1/4" long. A Chinese vanity box with three drawers and a mirror that slides out on the top when opened. The bottom of the vanity box contains a continuous scrolling motif often seen in Chinese designs. Age: 19th century. Size: Height: 7.25" Width: 11.3" Length: 8.5"

Lapis Lazuli Hard Stone Pendant with three dimentional carving of Phoenix Bird in the center on both sides, 2 1/2" high(only Lapis part, not included the gold part), 1 3/8" wide, 1/4" thick, with natural color of heavy Lapis Lazuli hard stone with impressed mark of "14K" and "585" on yellow gold ring. No damages.

A letter open done in mixed metal with motif of cranes, chrysanthemums, magnolia-like flowers, and other flowering plants. The letter opener contains a signature that is difficult to read. Age: Meiji Period. Size: Length 13" Width 1.5"

Primitively carved molave hardwood mortar from the Philippines. This container would have been used for food preparation for grinding grain. It has an interesting wooden handle that gives this piece an unusual character. The bottom of the square bowl is worn through with years of use.

Chinese carved jade model of a brilliant green chloromelonite jadeite oval plaque, with qilin beneath pine, and verso with phoenix and flowering branch motifs (possibly color enhanced but not tested).
