Antique Chinese jadeite carving of a pair of peanuts with leaves and vines growing out of their top, and a small chimera crawling along the bottom with its legs and tails pointed upwards. Peanuts are called "huasheng" in Chinese, and are considered a lucky charm for those wishing to have many children as "sheng" means "giving birth". This is a great little Japanese satsuma vase. It is highly detailed and the 40 or so children are all very expressive. Amazingly the vase stands only 3 inches tall. This is truly a wonderful micro-detailed piece and I believe it was made with the beautiful and tough mercury fired gold. You will need glasses to appreciate all the fine detail. A rare and very old neolithic pottery jar from the Qijia culture from Gansu Province, China, 2050 - 1200 BC. Being corded, when the clay was wet, fabric was applied making pattern. When it was fired, the fabric would burn off, leaving the design. In excellent condition, no restoration or repairs, it measures 6.5" high.

Description:

A pair of Jianyang hare-furs tea bowls was well mold in fine shape.
In evert mouth rim, the bowls were stand by circular foot rings.
Characteristic abrasion was found at the foot ring where the body clay was covered with burial adhesives.
Incursions were also found on the mouth rim.
They were in lovely sizes- very hard to find on the market, but ideally for tea ceremony.

Date: Southern Song dynasty, 1127-1279.

This is decoration cloth used in Iwate for Edo period. This is dyed in indigo plant, black, Bengara- color. Hemp thread is spun by hand and this is thick. The back side is dyed into this with a natural indigo plant. This is cloth for ceremonies of the celebration. This has few stains, but there is not the damage. The state is complete.
