A Martavan Jar made in Thailand or Burma with a cream glaze on the upper body over a reddish stoneware body, The lower half of the jar is not glazed, and there are two lugs on the jars' shoulder. The jar measures about 12 1/2" tall x 11" in diameter, and it is heavy, about 12 lbs. The Jar dates to the 16th/17th Century and was purchased in Indonesia. The condition is very good, but it has a very worn and pitted bottom commensurate with age...

An early Thai, Sukhothai period Celadon-glazed stoneware figure of a mother, shown chewing an ancient form of Narcotic drug known as Miang.

The figure dates to approximately 1400 A.D. and was produced in Thailand's Ancient Si Satchanalai Kilns. The depiction is one of a woman, shown seated with her left leg internally rotated and her right leg to the side. She has large protruding breasts and clutches a stylized child close to her body...

Quirky pair of fishing bobs from the Mentawai Islanders off the coast of West Sumatera. These are probably multifunctional as I have seen them described variously as turtle net buoys, fishing bobs as well as net weavers. The larger one has a fishing hook fashioned from a nail as well as old stone bead. L: 49.5/19.5in and 53cm/20.8in.

Old song bird catcher from the Minang people of Central Sumatra. I bought this in Padang in 1988 and it was already old at the time, so I can date this to about 1950. A classic honey trap, right out of the KGB spy book. A hot and seductive female bird is placed in the back of the cage and when a dumb male bird comes along and lands on the perch in front this will trip a peg that will cause the net in the front to come down and now he is caught. A very rare antique Buddhist miniature knife/dagger with a bronze gilt figure as handle, 19th Century, Thai or Burmese. The sheath is hand carved wood and has script on both sides. The small steel blade also has writing engraved on both sides. Size: length of knife including handle 5" or 13 cm. Very good condition. Something for collectors as rare!

This model is a faithful representation of the American privateer ship built in New York at the beginning of the 19th century. The model is of exceptional quality. It may be that it was built from a kit from the 70s but the multitude of excellent details leads me to believe that it is a unique work created from scratch by a virtuoso model maker. Although we know of many models of the "Prince of Neuchatel", none equals this one...
