A very good sized sculpture of Pedanda, a Brahman priest of the highest caste. This is a traditional sculpture, not a piece for tourists. It's made of hard wood, very intricately carved and has a subtle polychrome. H. 51 cm. Condition: expected age wear and a few age cracks. Please refer to the detailed pictures. DESCRIPTION: An attractive Asian fishing creel, fashioned from woven split bamboo with wood base and neck, and an attached tightly woven string for hanging. A creel is used for carrying fish or blocks of peat moss which function as an evaporative cooler when dipped into a creek, keeping the catch chilled. Chinese Mother of Pearl Mahjong Set with Wood Box

The box is 6.6 inches (16.8 cm) tall by 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) long and 9.2 inches (23.3 cm) wide. Each tile is 0.4 inch thick (1 cm) by 1.2 inches (3 cm) in length and 0.78 inch (2 cm) wide. The total weight is 9.3 Lb.

The box has hairline, surface wears and scratches. Some tiles have rubbing paints, flea bite chips, surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos)...

A large boat-shaped dish with superbly pierced, repoussed and engraved decoration of lotus flower scrolls. Base with "800" silver and "HISAM" maker's mark. Provenance: Swiss-Dutch family living in Indonesia in the first half of the 20th C. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: 31 x 23.2 x 7.1 cm, weight: 383 g.

Fine strand of prewar WWII, glass Venetian trade beads from Africa, L: 58cm/23in. These are strung on a contemporary cotton green string with copper wire fastener.
