Very rare hand carved Baroque Church Putto (Cherub), wood with traces of gilding and polychrome paint, made for corner/angle where 2 walls join. Exceptional AMARAPURA Crowned Buddha in Royal attire subduing Mara. Gilded wood with finely coloured glass-mirror inlays which points to the early Konbuang Period (1752-1885). Rare Thai bronze cast Buddha in deep meditation (Dhyana Mudra), nice original black and gold patina, seated on lotus base. Very gentle and serene expression. Good weight and condition, only tiny tip of flame missing. Size: H. 21 cm. x W. 13.5 cm. x D. 7.5 cm. Late 18th/19th Century.

Hand carved Baroque polychrome wooden cupid angel, typical chubby features of the period. Original black and red patina with gilding. Very fine bronze Shan State Buddha with an exquisite black-gold patina seated on a stepped throne decorated with knobs. The sculpture displays an elegant smartness and is well proportioned. The Buddha is seated in the Vajrasana position with the right hand in the gesture of touching the earth (bhumisparsa mudra) and the left hand rests in the gesture of meditation (dhyana mudra). Very serene Lacquer SHAN STATE Buddha Head with traces of gilding. Hollow, mounted on removable temporary base. Ushnisha-Flame also removable and probably from a later date. Very good condition.
