Very good, Pagan 12th century, impressed image of the Buddha inset a niche, flanked by stupas and two lines of Nagari script beneath. Overall the details are crisp and the interplay between light and shadow on this piece are quite dramatic. The best examples of this type reside in the Ashmolean and British Museums...

A spectacular Sawankalok brown glaze jarlet dating to the 14th century. It is extremely rare to find these type jarlets in the condition here shown, no chips, hairlines, or other damage. 7.62 cm. or 3 inches high.

Very attractive bronze seated Disciple/Monk holding alms bowl in his left hand, which rests on his leg and gracefully helping himself with his right hand. This monk is the disciple Mahakasyapa who was particularly close to Buddha. In the tradition of the Zen-masters, Kassapa was the first monk to receive from the Buddha "without word or writing" the unspeakable highest truth of the Dharma. This bronze statuette has a small hole on the left hand side of the base for placing incense sticks...

Very rare hand carved Baroque Church Putto (Cherub), wood with traces of gilding and polychrome paint, made for corner/angle where 2 walls join. Wood shows 2 cracks, toes of right foot are missing because of age, otherwise in good overall condition. Size: H. 12" x W. 9" x D. 8" Unique collector's item!

Hand carved Baroque polychrome wooden cupid angel, typical chubby features of the period. Original black and red patina with gilding. A pair of ancient glass earrings. The glass is very light in weight and encrusted with soil from being buried for such a long period. Can be cleaned by soaking in warm water. The earrings are of a hooped shape that is simple and very elegant in form.
