Sold A small statue of a dancer in traditional costume, finely cast and cold-worked in bronze and fixed on the original wooden stand. Such small bronze figurines were souvenirs and gifts from British Burma of the 1920s/30s. Condition: fine, only wood stand with some chips and traces of usage. Dimension: total height: c. 16 cm, base: 12.3 cm x 8.8 cm, figure: 12.5 cm high x 9.5 cm wide, weight: 1200 g.
Large Thai bronze Buddha head with serene face and downcast almond eyes, curled headdress, flaming usnisa, and elongated ears. The casting is thin, the patina is very nice, and there is typical corrosion and wear evident. Traces of gilt are visible in the usnisa and hair (see close up images). Produced in the 18th/19th century in the Sukhothai period style. 15" high. Weighs about 9 lbs. There is no stand. This bronze is from the Albert Ninde estate in Tucson...

SOLD Antique Thai Iron Standing Buddha, early Ayutthaya period 14th century, heavy oxidation but still delightful. The right hand is raised from the elbow in Abhaya with the hand in Gyan mudra, the left is holding possible a sacred medicine ball. The figure is on tiered square stand, and stands in a thin delicate pose.
