From our Southeast Asia Collection, a large and well-carved image of the Burmese monk Mogallana, 19th century. The carving is rendered in gilding and black lacquer over carved hardwood, with shell inserts for the eyes, typical for the better quality Mandalay era pieces. Overall, the piece is very nicely executed with good expressiveness and presence, making it very suitable for part of a shrine ensemble, or simply for display as a centerpiece on its own...

Fine AVA Bronze Buddha subduing Mara, seated in the Lotus position on a stepped throne depicting 2 layers decorated with fine double lotus leaves in high relief. Original patina, good condition, no repairs. The Buddha's right hand is touching the earth while his left hand is in gesture of meditation. 15th Century, Burma. Size: H. 23 cm. x W. 12 cm. x D. 7.5 cm. Very RARE!

A nice Shakyamuni Marble Shan State Buddha touching the earth (subduing Mara) with nice detailed carving and some gilding, sitting on a lotus base. Condition very good, heavy object. Size: H. 18" x W. 11.5" x D. 7.5" (46 cm. x 29 cm. x 19 cm.) excluding stand. Comes mounted on a nice black stand.

A beautiful genuine Khmer ANGKOR WAT Stone Carving/Slab depicting a dancing APSARA, a celestial Nymph, mounted on a museum quality stand. Her head is adorned with a headdress and earrings, a necklace and around her waist is a knotted skirt with sash. Decorated with vines and foliage. Origin: Angkor Wat 12-13th Century. Size: Width 16 cm. ( 6.5" inches). Weight: 1.739 kg.

A rare LAOTIAN BRONZE BUDDHA IN DEEP MEDITATION (MARA VIJAYA). Difficult to find genuine Bronze Buddhas from Laos as most were made of wood because of the high cost and especially in this pose/position. Very good condition overall, late 18th Century. Antique Tibetan silver statue of the Tibetan Vajra Buddhist fierce deity Mahakala. He stands on top of two bodies atop a lotus pedestal, wielding two important symbols of Tibetan Buddhism: A dorje and a bell. He wears the skin of a tiger around his waist, a crown of five skulls to represent the Five Poisons- anger, desire, ignorance, jealousy, and pride- transformed into Five Wisdoms. A snake wraps itself around Mahakala's neck and arms...

From our Southeast Asia Collection, a very good 18th century gilded bronze Thai buddha, seated in bhumisparsa mudra, gilded lacquer over bronze with interesting glass inserts to the base, and all the indicia of legitimate age and genuineness.

Size and Condition: 13 inches tall, 8 1/2 inches wide. There is obvious age-related wear to the gilding and some lacquer has flaked off in a few random places, but in small amounts...

A Tibetan bronze ceremonial bell, with a gilt vajra shaped handled, finely cast with the image of a bodhisattva's head, the top of the bell with low-relief Sanskrit characters on lotus petals, small vajra pattern along the fluted edges of the bell, and an inner lotus petal design with signature inside the bell where the clapper hangs.

Vitex parviflora is a species of plant in the Verbenaceae family, known as smallflower chastetree, or Molave tree. It is found in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The Molave has a natural golden tone that is indicative of the tree.
