Statue of Buddha, in meditation posture ("dhyana mudra") sitting cross-legged on an elevated throne. Bronze, with green patina. Thailand, Dvaravati period, 7th-9th century. Height: 12.9 cm. Good condition.

An interesting Cambodian cast bronze statuette representing the Hindu god Vishnu standing with his 4 arms. The bronze bears an excellent original patina which confirms the dating, 12th century Khmer art.Typical clothing and jewelry. The Asian Art Museum houses a superb similar statue, a photo of which is attached. A wooden plinth was made around 1900 to stabilize the statue. Height without the wooden base: 115 mm (4.5 inches).

A pair of Indonesian lamps comprised of wood temple carvings and Mica shades that were later added. The faces have carved leaves while the eaves have leaves that cascade down.

Lovely bronze Buddha in the naïve style that is so typical for Laos. It's heavily cast. The Buddha in Bhumisparsa Mudra, seated on a lotus throne. H. 26 cm. Very nice age wear and good patina. There is a minor hole in the front, this is a casting flaw.

A pair small statues of a woman and a man in traditional costume, cast and cold-worked in bronze and fixed on the original wooden stand. The woman is rolling cheroot cigars and the man is smoking one. Such small bronze figurines were souvenirs and gifts from British Burma. A fine excavated 17/18th Century Bronze GANESH, seated. Most likely of Shan State origin, Burma. Beautiful naturally formed patina with turquoise accents. The Ganesha is adorned on both sides. Size 10 cm x 9 cm (4" x 3.5")

Head of Buddha with a serene expression. Grey sandstone, with some remnants of the original lacquering and gilding at the back. Ears partly missing, nose restored. Thai Ayuthaya period, 16th/17th century. The head is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Height of the head: 18 cm.

Splendid Lanna Thai Wooden Buddha with original gilding seated on an elaborately decorated throne. Very serene/calm expression. The Buddha is seated in the Vajrasana position with the right hand in the gesture of touching the Earth (bhumisparsa mudra) and the left hand rests in the gesture of meditation (dhyana mudra).
