Thai 13th - 15th Century Sawankhalok Stoneware Covered Box

This covered stoneware box was made during the 13th - 15th centuries at the Sawankhalok kilns. It is elaborately decorated in underglaze blue with a ring of yellowish-brown glaze around the moulded top of the cover that is in the form of picked fruit. Diameter 9.75 cm, height 8 cm. There are a couple of fine hairline cracks to the edge of the cover and minor chips to the edge of the box...

Thai 14th - 15th Century Sawankhalok Celadon Bowl (19.75cm)

This stoneware bowl was made at the Sawankhalok kilns around the 14th - 15th century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated in a finely-crackled translucent celadon glaze. The inner surface has been decorated with incised parallel bands and vertical lines. The unglazed lower part of the underside has fired to a reddish-brown.

This stoneware bowl was made at the Sukhothai kilns during the 14th - 15th century. The striking floral / geometric pattern is in underglaze iron-brown on top of a white slip. The honey-coloured clear glaze is finely-crackled. The glaze is at its thickest to the upper surface. On the underside the glaze is thinner and has degraded in places leaving a matt surface. To the centre are five "spur marks". The base remains unglazed...

Setof three Thai benjarong enameled dishes, the larger lobbed dish decorated with lotus flowers on a green ground, together with a pair of small footed dishes decorated with similar motif.

A buff-terracotta vessel, with rounded body, tapering cylindrical neck with ribbed collar in relief and everted molded rim, the shoulder incised with concentric circle bands. Thailand, Haripunchai period, ca. 11th century. Height: 23.5 cm. Very good condition. Provenance: Auction sale Sotheby's New York, June 17th 1993, lot # 370. Related catalog available.

This finely-shaped stoneware bottle, with its pear-shaped body and wide flaring mouth, was made during the 13th - 15th Century at one of the Sawankhalok kilns. It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated in a very unusual glaze of a dark greenish-blue colour with a most attractive crackled effect...

A Thai / Sawankhalok covered pottery box dating to 15th-16th cent AD.

Circular form with blue decorations on a white underglaze. Floral and geometrical motifs.

Size is c. 9 x 9,5 m. - 3,5 x 3,7 inches.

Condition: Choice with smaller chips to the rim of the lid. A vertical hairline crack at the base.
