Two rare well carved Pyu stone elephants. These are a type of micro carvings that the Pyu period is noted for. There are holes drilled in both of the elephants for stringing. Size: See last photo. Condition: No repairs or chips. Some encrustation still adhering to them from long burial that can be removed by soaking.

In Hindu and Buddhist mythology, a Naga is a semidivine being, half human and half dragon serpent. Nagas can assume either wholly human or wholly serpentine form. They live in an underground kingdom filled with beautiful palaces that are adorned with gems. Size; 90cm X 70cm. Condition: two age cracks between the head and body. Overall in very good condition.

Unusual mask carved in wood, in the form of a skull face, with a strong expression in relief. Remnants of the original pigments meant to enhance the mask features. This mask, which was bever worn, was used by a "dukun" for ritual practices and ceremonies. The mask was found in the island of Java, Indonesia. Its height: 17 cm. Mounted on a custom stand. Vietnam was known for accomplished mother of pearl inlay work as found in the accomplished inlay work on this black lacquer board folding to form a case. Every other square is mother of pearl with fine inlaid decoration of the same material and with incised details. Wayang topeng mask, finely carved in wood to represent a typical character of that theater, with strong features, painted in polychrome colours to underline some areas. Animal hair was affixed to the mask to represent the hair and the moustache of the character. A wood bar was affixed to the inside of the mask, probably to allow the bearer to hold the mask with his teeth as is done sometimes. An inscription made by its former owner indicates the origin of the mask...

An antique Papau New Guinea Yipwon figure of the Alamblak people. Anthropomorphic opposing hook style hardwood carving. A large one such as this was collectively owned by clans and worshipped to bring victory to battles and success during hunting. The Yipwon is the patron spirit of warfare and hunting. Custom metal fabricated stand supports the figure.
