The surface of this rough slab is like an eroded plain with rivulets of glass running to a clouded pool in the center, signed along the edge and enclosed in the original signed wooden box by Sugimoto Sadamitsu. It is roughly 20-1/2 x 8-1/2 x 3 inches (52 x 21.5 x 8 cm) and in perfect condition.

Impressing black Raku tea bowl, signed Kichizaemon, of the Raku family.

The signed box is labeled “10th generation”, which means Tan-nyu (1795-1854). It represents true Japanese Chado, made from of one of the most famous potter clans in Japan. Most pieces of Kichizaemon Tan-nyu are hold in museums.

'Remote Landscape' by Tanomura Chokunyu (1814~1907)

Chokunyu was the step son of Tanomura Chikuden and he studied Chikuden's work. Chokunyu started to learn from Chikuden when he was 9 years old, and Chikuden found his talent and adopted him.
