Sold, Thank you! An Edo period suit of raw iron with all matching parts, featuring 16 plate helmet with two lame shikoro and large fukigaeshi. The mask is fantastic, a real stunner with dramatic features and a large mustache. It has five plate sode and a go-mai-do cuirass of five iron plates, with kusazuri of leather scales. The sangu are all matching, very nice on dark silk tightly woven iron scales, with a crest in brass on the back of the hands...

Sold, with thanks! A fabulous image in blue of a wide shouldered beast by Shigemori Yoko enclosed in a signed wooden box titled simply Dobutsu (animal). The clay is rolled and folded, attached and glazed in blue prior to bisk-firing. Due to this unusual method, the blue seems to permeate out of the clay, not into it. This style was a particular staple of the work of Shigemori after 2000 and the animal series came after her early abstract sculptures, and prior to her three-dimensional landscapes...

It all is expressed with embroidery. It is wonderful beautiful uchikake kimono.
It does not have a stain. It has few small small holes in lining cloth. It has the portion from which slight embroidery separated. However, it is not conspicuous. Its design is bold and artistic! It is really an wearable art!
I recommend very excellent uchikakekimono to your collection.

The Kura
sold, with thanks! Koi frolic, splashing gold and silver waves as they leap and battle for the top of this stacking food dish dating from the later 19th century. The design is striking! Outside is polished black loaded down with gold and silver maki-e with applied kirigane cut gold squares. Inside is festive red. The box (assembled) is 25 x 23 x 38 cm (10 x 9 x 15 inches). Some minor dings but overall, very nice condition for something which has seen use.

Sold, Thank you! A seminal Karatsu fresh water container by master of that style Nakagawa Jinenbo enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Chossen Karatsu Mizusashi. Raw earth is supplanted with rich iron into which flows curtains of black into which flows rivulets of blue. Two lug handles drape from the sides and it retains the original ceramic lid. It is 16.5 cm (6-1/2 inches) diameter, 17.5 cm 7 inches) tall and in excellent condition.
