Japanese Ginbari Cloisonne Vase from the Showa Period, circa 1930-1950s. Red body with plum blossoms on a branch. The red color used on the vase is known as, akasuke and is thought to be the most difficult color to produce and only the most skilled artisans can successfully produce its ruby red color. To create its color, gold is mixed with a glass like substance and is applied to the object and fired at a low temperature. It measures 5" tall, 1.25" opening, 2" base...

This is a very attractive Cloisonne jewelry chest from Inaba. It is a vintage piece, but still there a lot of work that went into this jewelry chest. It is decorated all over. There are two working drawers and both sides of the doors are also decorated. In the bottom area is a wind-up musical mechanism, that does work. The Phoenix Bird decoration on the top is very nicely done. The box is very heavy and it measures 7 1/4 inches tall, 6 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches deep...

Perfect condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, and dating to the first half of the 1900’s; maker’s mark and collector’s stickers are on the back. The size of Kogai with Metal end: 5 7/16" Long, The size of Lacquer Kogai: 5 1/4" L x 5/8" W. Metal ends Kogai, Hair pin made by buffalo bone I think. It is removable as photo showing. Each end has Kinbari(gld filled) finish. It has "Kinbari" marking on each end as last photo showing. Kinbari(gold filled) is heavier than Kin-mekki(gold plated). Other is lacquer finish over some king bone. It is pretty light but not plastic. The condition of metal ends Kogai is excellent condition...

A superb Sajigawa stone of deep olive patina, completely natural, on a carved rosewood base and enclosed in a fine old straight grain wood box. Notice the entirely natural arch growing between the two spires. This is incredibly rare and a fine prize. This would be considered a house shaped stone, reminiscent of a farm-house and its adjoining out-building, a covered passage between. Saji stones come from the Saji river in Tottori prefecture...
