A strong form has been carved from this block of rough shigaraki clay, a seven sided vessel absent of glaze yet filled with the vibrant colors and textures of the kiln. It is an early work by Shigaraki star Kohyama Yasuhisa amd comes enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It measures 7 inches (18 cm) tall, 4-1/2 inches (11.5 cm) across and is in fine condition.

A massive Bizen Sculpture befitting any Museum collection by Kawabata Fumio exhibited at the 11th Nihon Togeiten National Pottery Exhibition in 1991 (Catalog included) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 23 x 13-1/2 x 19 inches (58 x 34 x 48 cm) and is in fine condition weighing 18 kilograms (40 pounds) not including the box. The exhibition label remains attached to the base. A thick glazed tokkuri and chokko cup by Koyama Kiyoko enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The Tokkuri has a playful stance, slightly cocky and leaning, as if it wants to pour. Both are covered in thick, dripping ash glaze, a product of her legendary long firings, sometimes lasting ten days. It is 5 inches (13 cm) tall and in fine condition.
