A beautiful Japanese hibachi or also known as a brazier. The frame of the hibachi and the drawers are done in kurogaki (black persimmon wood) and the panels are done in keyaki.

Taoism guardians known as the embodiment of Good Fortune (Fu), Prosperity (Lu), and Longevity (Shou) finely curved and kept in a Zushi, a miniature shrine decorated with gold leaf and handmade silver work. Circa 19th Century. The guardians are often kept as personal daily worship at household and decoration. Signed Shugetsu. The seal reads Hara. It is attributed to one of prominent doll make artists, first Hara Shugetsu. It is in fine condition.

A set of sword fittings compromising of a tsuba, pair of menuki, and fuchigashira. The menuki is chiseled in the katagiri style on shakudo with gold iroe embellishments. The fuchigashira are done in polished shibuichi bronze. The set comes with a special kiri box with purple chirimen silk to store the set.

A heavy, portable, antique metal bound wood cabinet fitted with drawers and a carrying handle made in Japan, circa 1800-1900 or possibly earlier. This is a fine early Japanese Satsuma Koro done in the early or Gosu style. The stained decorative lid appears to be bronze. In person it is more detailed and attractive than the images show. Of note on the inside rim there is a fired factory flaw that is shown in the last image. Condition is excellent it stands 4 inches tall.

Japanese Meiji Period Imari Vase beautifully rendered in perfect condition. Scrolling vine wrapped around the neck of the vase. Vibrant orange and reds with fine gold coloring detailing the peony flowers. Cartouche on bottom. Size: 16.625" Height x 6.5" Diameter.

From the "Kuang-Hsu" region, mustard colored bowl with blue fish design inside, China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1911); Kuang-Hsu Huangxu mark to the base, Dimensions: Diameter of the bowl is 6 inches and it stands 2 1/2 inch tall, no condition concerns.

An elaborately decorated lacquered sword stand. The stand is made into a small chest with three drawers. The chest is decorated with motifs of plums, a phoenix, and a Chinese style landscape with inlaid embellishments. The interior of the drawers is done in nashiji or pear skin makie. Antique Japanese lacquered samurai sword stand,holds five swords. The stand is simply done in black lacquer with gold paintings on the front and back panels. The bridge of the stand is decorated with a view of Mount Fuji divided into two sections. One side shows Mount Fuji with a dragon ascending the peak of the mountain. A sublime square japanese export table decorated with scrolling clouds, flora, and rising dragons. The intricate and detailed carvings were popular during the Meiji period when most of Japan's fine arts and crafts were being exported to the West. A rare Japanese okimono depicting the seated bodhisattva of compassion with serene facial expression. Made of bright bronze alloy, maybe shibuichi, and fine inlays in silver, gold and enamel. The base with signature. Condition: no damage, few traces of wear. Dimension: 11.1 cm high, weight: 572 g.

This is traditional Bugaku- clothes of the Edo era. This is the form that is traditional in silk twill fabrics. It has two extremely small holes. There are no stain and damage. The pattern is Ganryo- dyeing. It can be hardly exhibited at the market. Size 193cm x 186cm (75.9 "x 73.2")

Beautiful Japanese antique highly carved butsudan panel, carved with scene of two dragons in swirling clouds and crashing waves, black and gilt lacquer with details in red, the eyes of the dragons are made of reverse painted glass, framed in black lacquer frame with copper hardware. This piece was once a ranma or transom over the interior doors of a large Buddhist butsudan shrine. Meiji Period. Size: 9" high x 44" long. Carving is up to 3" deep.

A large Kansai area issho tansu made from keyaki and sugi woods. Copper handles are used on the sliding door panels and a special cabinet with a lock is set on the bottom area of the chest. Tansu such as these were often placed in the private quarters of the home and clothes, family documents, and important objects were placed inside. Museum piece from the Late Edo Period (could be earlier) from Iga in Mie Prefecture near Shigaraki, another great kiln producing area outside of Kyoto.
