It is 9.6 inches (24.5 cm) tall with handle up and 6.25 inches (16 cm) tall with handle down by 7.55 inches (19.2 cm) wide. It is 5.6 Lb.

An antique small tansu of kiri wood from the Taisho period. Sliding doors behind which books and small objects were stored. Lower drawers were used to store documents, photos, ephemera, receipts, etc.

We continue our presentation of Ohi chawan (Ohi tea bowls) with yet another sublime vessel, a true eye-catcher made at the end of the Meiji Period around 1910. It's a unique Ohi Chawan which seems to be a kuro Raku bowl, but it isn't. With its sophisticated shape and its mesmerizing play of predator pattern inside its outstanding.

Ohi ware is indeed closely related to Raku; the first Ohi potter was the son of Raku III, Donyu, and apprenticed to the fourth Raku master, Ichinyu...

Elegant Japanese bronze hanging lantern from the Taisho Period, C.1920. Each of the four panels has a different scene of auspicious symbols: bamboo, plum blossoms, cherry blossoms. An antique Japanese two sectional Tansu of kiri wood (paulownia) with four large drawers used for clothing. The original iron hardware has four locks. The drawers have warabite curved handles.

A lovely little Japanese cloisonne vase depicting two flowers in polychrome enamels worked in silver wire on a green ground with silver mountings. In excellent condition, it measures 5 inches high. Dates circa 1910.

Large late Meiji to Taisho period Japanese Arita porcelain cylindrical form hibachi decorated in underglaze blue, white, and celadon with mirrors and auspicious symbols. Scattered bisque incised signature seals accent the decoration. 12 1/4" high x 17" diameter. Early 20th century. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. From the collection of an elderly woman in Sun City West, Arizona.

Antique Japanese mizuya (kitchen tansu) in two sections. The frame is made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood with a very smooth grain. Sliding panels and drawer fronts are made of keyaki (elm) wood with dramatic grain. The top section has a large compartment that runs the width of the chest and is covered by 4 sliding panels with keyaki burl wood. The next compartment down is larger and is covered by 2 large sliding panels with decorative cut outs backed with keyaki wood...

The size of Tea Cup: 3 1/8" Dia x 2 1/4" High. The pair of Japanese Hakeme Tea Cups by 1st Kuze Kyuho (1874-1947). It is finely made with brownish earthen clay. It has finish of Hakeme, white brush stroke work glazing. The Tea cup is made finely finish. Each cup bear the Kyuho's round chop seal on the wide of Kodai (foot rim). Each cup has Japanese Kanji writing of "Konnichi An" which is name of Urasenke's Tea Room which was built by Sen Sotan (1578-1658)...

Antique Japanese low table made all of carved keyaki (elm) wood. The top is made of a single piece of dramatically grained wood with the edges carved to create a gnarled burl effect. The legs are also made of solid keyaki wood and carved with rounded feet. Original deep orangish red translucent lacquer finish.

Taisho Period (early 20th century)

A spectacular pair of vases by Ito Tozan I decorated with the imperial chrysanthemum in gold between soaring phoenix; symbols of the Japanese imperial family. Both come in the original (tired) silk pouch in a compartmentalized wooden box signed by the artist. Each is roughly 6 inches tall and in excellent condition, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century (later Meiji to Taisho period)...

The great Tang Poet Du Fu (712-770) affectionately coddles a goose chick in his left hand, his bamboo staff low and seemingly forgotten as he ponders the beloved creature in his palm. Exquisitely rendered, it is roughly 16 inches (40 cm) tall and signed on back with an engraved signature...

A Japanese sterling silver vase with engraved and embossed decoration of two roses. Base with "jungin" mark, the side with engraved signature. On a pierced Chinese wooden stand. Condition: the visible side fine, but the reverse with several dents. Dimension: vase 19.4 cm high, height with stand: 23.3 cm, weight: 376 g.

Japanese Meiji to Taisho period vase in the form of a gourd tied in a bow at the mid-section with a braided and tassled rope. The signature appears to translate as Tsunemo. 7" high. Weighing 2 lbs. 8 1/2 ounces, the vase is very heavy for its size. Early 20th century. Very good overall condition with a nice patina. From an old Tucson, Arizona estate.

Beautiful set of 5 Oribe dishes with a chrysanthemum flower motif on the bottom of each dish. Rich olive green glazes with iron rich colorings. Taisho Period C. 1920. Great condition. 10cm x 10cm. Comes in a wood box. Ask for shipping quote.

The Size of Tea Pot: 6 1/2" Long x 5 1/2" Wide x 5 1/4" High. This very unusual Japanese Porcelain Tea Pot in Sometsuke (Blue and White). It is all handpainted design of Botan (peony) with Chrysanthemum flowers as well as some relief works on flowrs. The condition of Tea Pot excellent. Please note the handle area with little tiny glaze bubbles bursted. Other than this the condition of Tea Pot excellent. There is Kamadashi ato ( kiln spots) on the bottom edge as photos showing...
