Rabbits under bush clover and full moon. Date: 1931. Publisher: Watanabe Shozaburo. Bears the Watanabe C (sausage) seal, which was in use between 1929-1942 and is consistent with a first/early edition. Size: Oban. Approximately 15 x 10 inches. "Made in Japan" stamped on verso. Reference: S41.7 in Crows, Cranes & Camellias: The Natural World of Ohara Koson (Reigle Newland). Condition: Excellent.

SOLD An antique Japanese Mizuya (kitchen) Tansu single section made of keyaki wood. The top section has four sliding panels. The mid section has 5 medium sized drawers. The lower section has two large sliding panels. Adjacent to the panels is a small drawer and hinged door with a large compartment.
Date: early Meiji (19th Century) Dimensions: 67" tall X 76" wide X 21" deep. Large late Meiji to Taisho period Japanese Arita porcelain cylindrical form hibachi decorated in underglaze blue, white, and celadon with mirrors and auspicious symbols. Scattered bisque incised signature seals accent the decoration. 12 1/4" high x 17" diameter. Early 20th century. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. From the collection of an elderly woman in Sun City West, Arizona.

It is Japanese Grass fence, flowers and leaves pattern. It weave a lot of threads of the gold to a Black ground and am luxurious very beautifully. As for it, both sides are the same patterns.It can enjoy both sides. The dough is strong, I recommend it for Table decoration and dress, bags, shoes and patchwork materials...

It was worn on the occasion of travel over kimono. It has wool collar, probably imported. The word "kappa" came from Portuguese "capa". The Portuguese first came to Japan in 17th century.
