Here is magnificent example of the beauty of Raku ware, a pottery tradition born more than 400 years ago in the ancient Japanese capital of Kyoto, from the collaboration between great tea master Sen Rikyu (1522-1591) and a potter named Chojiro ( - 1592), the forebear of the great Raku family of potters.

An antique Japanese 3 case inro with wisteria in makie lacquer. Designed with a reddish brown ground and lacquered with gold leaf. The wisteria blossoms drape from it's stem which wraps around the top of the case to end in a scroll pattern on the back side. Interior cases interiors are lacquered black.

An antique Japanese three-case Inro. The Inro is reddish brown cherry bark lacquered with a dragonfly hovering over a lotus leave and pond. The other side is a continuation of the lotus leaf motif with small gold leaf flowers. The interior has a continuation of the cherry bark surface. The Inro is signed by 'Zeshin" (Shibata Zeshin 1807-1891) with a cursive monogram. Fitted with an orange oval ojime bead.

Here’s a really large Neolithic greenstone Axe from the early Funnel Beaker Culture, dating to around 4000-3500 BC.

A massive axe in hand, weighing 3,1 kg. on the kitchenweight.

The axe is made out of greenstone that was polished into the four-sidet shape. 10-12 cm from the edge, the axe ‘hollows’, indicating the place where the axe was fastened to the shaft.

A wonderful translucent blue celadon Tobi vase done in the classic style of Longquan Chinese pottery. This piece was made by one of the few great female Japanese potters of the previous century—Suwa Sozan II, daughter of Meiji Imperial Court Artist Sozan I.
