A smokey swirling faceted vessel by master potter Nishihata Tadashi enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Yohen Tokkuri. A circular blank of pale gray shadow surrounded by raw burnt red clay gives way to a blanket of hazy ash. It is 15.5 cm (6 inches) tall, 11 cm (just over 4 inches) diameter and in excellent condition.

Hard porcelain bowl, produced in the Fukagawa kilns in Arita. Very artistic decor, typically Japanese, separated into two clearly distinct parts. On the one hand, two cranes in flight pass in front of misty Mount Fuji. The mountain and the sky are painted in underglaze cobalt blue and it is the absence of color which draws the clouds. The birds are in white, black and red enamels, they are meticulously drawn...

Hard porcelain vase created by tominaga genroku (1860-1920). Decorated with peonies painted underglaze in a classic cobalt blue, yellow, green and pink enameled details. Elegant shape, well-designed flowers, harmonious colors. Classic model typical of this period. The Ureshino kilns located in kyushu produced this type of porcelain from the end of the 19th century.Peonies are a symbol of immortality. A crack in the neck. Berries change color among the drying leaves clinging to the vine-wrapped vessel by Yamada Yoshiaki enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled simply Kabin. It is 31.5 cm tall, 16.5 cm diameter (12 x 6-1/2 x 6-1/2 inches) and is in excellent condition.
Yamada Yoshiaki was born in Ishikawa, home of Kutani wares, in 1948. He studied under Yamachika Tsuyoshi and Takegoshi Taizan whose influence is apparent. He began exhibiting in 1975 with the Souzou Bijutsu-kai Art Organization...

Suzuribako - Important model of urushi lacquer writing case from Japan, offering a rich decoration of a Kabuto and a sand on the top of the lid, on a hirameji lacquer background. Gold and silver lacquer with rare finesse of decoration. The interior offers a particularly remarkable scene, of two deer in autumn foliage. Takamaki-e and hiramaki-e. Dimensions: 4.6 cm x 21.3 cm x 23 cm. Japan Edo (1603-1868) early 18th century.

Rare and pretty Inro opening with four compartments and a lid in urushi lacquer with a black background decorated in hiramaki-e with gold lacquer, mitsuda, kirigane and mother-of-pearl inlays, of a traditional cottage above which a bird flies; on the other side, a set of objects including a large basket, branches and a cup. A refined form covered in a blast of liquid ash by Kojima Kenji enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Iga Mimitsuki Hanaire. This has a wide flange flaring from the mouth, with two square handles on the square neck which comes off a square pedestal of the bulbous body of the vase. Very unusual design, and quite compelling. It is 31 cm (over 12 inches) tall and in excellent condition...

Liquid Green ash seems to overflow the rim of this heavily potted Iga vase by Iga star Kojima Kenji enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Iga Mimitsuki Hanaire. The term Mimi refers to ears, usually a pair of lug like handles opposing each other on a pot. Here the ears have been elongated, more like lobes of some ancient sage, and become one with the wide flange of the base. Otherwise the mouth is modulating, the body cut and whacked with random symbols and pallet scars...

A trumpeting fluted form covered in igneous blasted ash by Iga legend Kojima Kenji enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Iga Ruiza Hanaire. Ruiza is the name of these small circular studs which decorate the vase between the flutes near the rim. It seems to dance on the table, the form bent as if in a twirl. This vessel, very organic in formation, is 25 cm (10 inches) tall, roughly 15 cm (6 inches) diameter at the top, and is in excellent condition...

This is a japanese antique tsutsugaki Indigo dye cotton noren textile of taisyo period(1912-1926). There are some light stains but they are not noticeable. There is one repaired part. Size :: Length: 152cm (59.8 inches) / Width :: 98cm / 38.5inch

A quintessential Mimitsuki Mizusashi with loop handles by die hard Takahashi Rakusai enclosed in the original signed wooden box. This is a superb example of the form by master of the tradition. It retains both the original pottery lid and custom made black lacquered wood Kae-buta lid. The vessel is 16.5 cm (6-1/2 inches) diameter, 17.5 cm (7 inches) tall and in excellent condition...

The large vase with silver wire cloisonne on ceramic with "tree bark" textured surface. Decoration of butterflies and peonies, with the blooms depicted in enamel tones of sienna, umber and dark mica, and the stems and leaves in dark green - almost black. The body of the vase covered with a dark, warm brown lacquer on intentionally course texture like tree bark - which it emulates. The Kyoto, crackle glazed greyish porcelain body visible from the foot. Taisho era (1912 - 1926). Good condition...
