Rare Antique Japanese Edo period samurai kozuka knife handle, made of copper-gold alloy (shakudō). Exterior adorned with a finely executed raised design of a snail cruising on a warabi. Very nice Kozuka with a rare design of a snail.

CONDITION: Age and usage are showing, with its original patina.

Jomon Zogan Vase made and signed by legendary Tatsuzo Shimaoka (1919-2007) in the 1980s who became Living National Treasure in 1996.

Tatsuzo Shimaoka was a Japanese mingei potter who studied under Shoji Hamada and later became the second Living National Treasure of Mashiko in Japan.
He was best known for his unique Jōmon zogan style of pottery, and was a master of many slip decorating and firing techniques for pottery...

First edition pencil-signed Japanese shin hanga woodblock print by Takeji Asano (1900-2002) titled "Rain in Shinnyodo" in the lower margin and dated Showa 28 (1953) in the lower left margin.
