A set of five concentric back glazed sake-cups enclosed in the original signed wooden box by Yagi Akira. Spectacular and dramatic Japanese Bunraku Puppet of a Sambaso dancer, rooted in myth, religion, and rituals performed at Shinto shrines and the imperial court, rituals aimed at conjuring up the gods. Has articulated eyes, mouth and arms making an array of wonderful expressions. He is holding his bell rattle, wearing a silk costume and a lacquered hat, presented on a classic Bunraku Puppet stand. 25.5 inches (65cm) tall.

A pair of Satsuma earthenware vases painted with two different continuous scenes of women and children in a landscape. Bases signed within a cartouche "Ryozan". Condition: fine, only little wear to gilding. Dimension: 23.8 cm high.

Hard to find, 19th Japanese articulated spiny lobster. Loss case method of solid copper. Each piece is meticulously cast and fitted with all 10 legs and long antenna. Fully articulated and movable, the lobster if fully splayed for viewing on a complex mounted stand.

Japanese literati painting finely detailed in the Chinese style with a snowy mountainous landscape scene featuring houses, figures, a waterfall, and gnarled trees. An inscription at the upper right is signed “Sorin Gaishi,” the pseudonym for Takaku Aigai (1796-1843), followed by two red artist seals. Takaku Aigai was a prominent Nanga School artist and a protégé of Tani Buncho...

An unusual image of a towering stone among pines by Yasuda Hanpo enclosed in the original signed wooden box dated 1935. It is titled Sosui Manken (In the shade of Towering Trees. Light pigment and ink on paper in a cloud-patterned satin border with large bone rollers. 46.5 x 207 cm (18-1/2 x 82 inches) and is in exceptional condition.

This old Japanese hand made sack (basket,bag) was made by a rural farmer or fisherman out of cotton cording. Handle holes were worked into the upper band which would have allowed for the changing of worn out handles. There is obvious wear and fading from use and age. The bag measures almost 11 x 15 inches It is Wonderful old ethnographic example of rural Japanese textile folk art

A small dish from the 1960s by Fujihira Shin enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 8 inches (20 cm) diameter and in fine condition.
Fujihira Shin (b. 1922-2012) was born into the family of a ceramics dealer in Kyoto, raised among the pots, and attended the Art University, however, in his second year would lose four years of his life to battling illness. This life and death struggle would make him a strong character, coming forth from then on in his works...

A dramatic pair of large trays　decorated with silver characters for sun and moon on dynamic black and red surfaces. Each comes in the original wooden box made by craftsmen at the Yabashi Studio in Gifu prefecture. They are 47 cm square and in fine condition.

An eight sided Shino Yunomi Cup by Suzuki Osamu (Kura) enclosed in the original signed wooden box decorated with triangles in red. A striking work, it is 3 inches wide, the same height (7.5 cm) and is in excellent condition. Osamu was born in Gifu prefecture in 1934, and graduated the Tajimi Technical School ceramics division in 1953. That same year he was awarded at the 6th Dento Kogeiten Traditional Crafts Exhibition...
