A set of 12 Kogo incense containers representing the 12 animals of the zodiac by Suwa Sozan I enclosed in the original signed wooden stacking-box. Each is roughly between 2 and 4 inches (5-10 cm). The Inoshishi (wild boar) has a small chip, otherwise all are in superb condition. In twenty years I have never seen a set like this and it certainly belongs in a museum...

Antique Japanese two-section kiri (paulownia) tansu with interesting kakute (squared) iron handles paired with round locks on each of its drawers. A superb 19th century hanging moon Vase of caramel bronze gilded inside entrrely with gold and enclosed in a custom kiri-wood period box titled Kara-kin Gekkei Hanaire (gilded Chinese-Bronze Vase). In this case the word Chinese does not indicate it being manufactured in China, but using a mixture of bronze based on Chinese origins. It is quite large at 14 inches (36 cm) diameter and comes with the original chain and insert for hanging and display of flowers...

Japanese limited-edition abstract sosaku hanga woodblock print by Hideo Hagiwara (1913-2007) titled "Bird." The print is pencil-signed, dated '58, and numbered 5/30 on the bottom margin. This print is an example of a reverse printed image on fine, transparent, slightly crinkled paper that is characteristic of his early work. There is an old inventory number (586A) at lower edge verso. Image size: 10 3/4"V x 14 3/4"H (paper: 13"V x 17"H). Very good overall condition...

Rare limited-edition abstract Japanese sosaku hanga woodblock print by Jun'ichiro Sekino (1914-1988) believed to be dated circa late 1950s. The bottom margin is pencil-signed and numbered 2/50. A white ink Jun Sekino signature is at the lower right. Paper: 12 1/8"V x 24 7/8"H (image: 9 3/8"V x 22 1/8"H). There is a mat burn line and some soiling evident in the margins. There are remnants of brown tape at the top verso. An original price tag is on the back...
