Japanese tall brown Lacquer on wood Candlestick, 28" high, 12" diameter-base diameter, 4" diameter-top, attached brass round dish on top and brass hook on the side. Lacquer surface shows wear and tear, as is condition.

Book titled "Pattern Weaves" authored by a prominent researcher of weaving techniques and also a textile artist, Keiko Kobayashi(1947~). It has abundant examples of weaving and patterns all over the world with images and her own drawings. 465 pages including 24 color pages. Published in 2017. B5 size. $40 with tax.

4 pieces of Nara Uchiwa whose history dates back to Nara period (A.D.710~794). It began as manual side line work of the Shinto priest of Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara. The traditional motifs (Tenpyo Moyo) such as peonix, deer, kylin (imaginary animal), dragon, Parrot etc. These four (originally five) were made by Ikeda Gankodo which is only existing maker of it in Nara. Japanese Bamboo Tea Ceremony Dish or Bowl, heavy Chestnut color Lacquer applied on hand woven Bamboo Dish or Bowl, 7" diameter, 1 3/4" high, the condition is good.

Japanese Woodblock Print by Hiroshige in black lacquered frame, reprinted in 1960's, one of East coast series, 18 1/2 x 20 1/2" for frame, 14" x 9 1/2" for image, tear on right side as is condition.

Katagami which is used for katazome (stenci-resist-dye), made of many layers of washi (Japanese handmade paper). It is painted with kakishibu (persimmon tannin) for waterproof and strength. The pattern "Kanze-mizu" is derived from the crest of the Noh drama player Kanze Dayu which is whirl of water. He was the founder of Kanze style Noh (15th century). In good condition. 20th century. 38cm x 45cm

Five(5) Japanese Pottery Sake Cups, 2 3/4" high, 2" diameter-top rim, Bamboo Brush painted on different colors of background. The condition is good.

Four(4) Japanese Mugs, Cups, with Handle, 3 3/4" high, 4" diameter-top rim, all different colors, they are all in good condition.

Maekake, apron made of Ohmi jofu, which is asa (hemp) with kasuri pattern. Weft kasuri yarns are board-clamp dye, so that both selvedges have bar-code like white lines. All hand-sewn and in excellent condition. It has red cotton belts. Late 19th to early 20th century. W:49cm, L:73cm

Maekake (apron) made of Ohmi jofu which is hand-woven of hemp with kasuri pattern. Weft kasuri yarns are clamp-board dye, so that it has bar-code like white lines in both selvedges. In excellent condition except for both white cotton belts have dirt. Late 19th to early 20th century. W:66cm, L73cm

A piece of hand-spun cotton cloth with katazome (stencil-resist dye) mum pattern on both sides. The ground cloth is vegetable indigo dye and flowers are benibana (safflower) dye. The first half of the 19th century. In excellent condition, except for a mending patch. W:29.5cm, L:60cm
