Beautiful purple earthenware vase with blue glaze. It measures 10" tall. It comes with the original box. The base has a cartouche, the signature of the artist.

A pair of gold and silver Koi fish or carp paper weight by Hisamatsu Koshun (1926-1989). Signed. There are some abrasions; otherwise it is in good condition.

Add some punch to your table with this colorful set of six vintage Japanese luster eggshell porcelain cups and saucers, circa 1930, richly hand painted with a detailed butterfly design on bright burnt orange ground. Marked Made in Japan. The set is 2 5/8 inches high by 6 inches wide, the cup is 2 inches high by 4 inches wide, and the saucer is 3/4 inch high by 5 1/2 inches wide. They are all in mint condition with no repairs, chips, or cracks.

Antique Japanese tall banner for Boy's Day celebration, two mon (family crests), scene depicting a noted scene from a noh play called Takasago. The two old couples represent the wish for a couple to be together till the end. The rake represents raking in fortune and the broom for sweeping away misfortune and bad energy. A crane above and an ancient turtle below, both also symbolic of longevity. The banner is painted in mineral pigments on cotton. 190" high x 26 1/2" wide.

An album page in woodblock print technique probably from the "Ehon Matsu no Shirabe", showing a young beautiful lady standing near a small river. Condition: faded, creased, thin area, one worm hole, reverse with tapes. Dimension: 23.6 cm x 17.1 cm.

A fine Japanese lid rest or futaoki as it is known in the tea ceremony. The lid rest is done in a technique known as karakane or bronze and has been hammered. The tachizuru or motif of standing cranes is often seen in various tea accessories representing the rise of auspiciousness. The lid rest comes with a tomobako with the name of the lid rest and the artist, Seishu. Age: Late Showa Period Size: diameter 2.1" height 2.1"

The print was purchased in an antique bookstore in Jinbocho Tokyo 1951 and is in good condition with minor staining (see photos below).

It is a silk kimono made in Akita region in the latter half in the Meiji era. In the times when better quality was found in the Meiji era, this is a superior expensive item. Hinagata (sample book of hanten (short jacket) design which is wood-block print. Hinagata is a sample design book and it was for customers when they make orders. The designs are stencil-dyed in the back of hantens which were worn by workers such as shop clerks, fish market workers, firemen and so on. This book is a remake of the original book as the ground paper had many damages so that the original design hantens were cut out and pasted on Japanese paper and newly bound...

Woodblock print by Japanese artist Saito circa 1950-1960, published by Uchida Art Co. This print is of two young girls wearing very bright and beautiful kimonos in various shades of green, blue, yellow, pink, and red. One girl holds a fan while the other holds a small toy of a bird. A paper lantern hangs behind the head of the smaller girl. Both girls have precious, doll-like features. Size: 17.5" tall, 30cm wide
