Ukimido at Katada, Lake Biwa Date: 1930s. Printed 1938-1960s. Size: Oban. Approximately 16.5 x 11.5 inches. Publisher: Nishinomiya Yosaku. Bears the publisher's seal in the left margin. Sealed "Yuhan" in Japanese within the image. Medium: Japanese woodblock print. Condition: Excellent. Note: Nishinomiya Yosaku also operated at times after the 1960s, so there is a possibility that this print was produced from the original blocks after the 1960s.

SOLD Antique Japanese iron tetsubin, or tea kettle, with a bell shaped body that flutes out towards the rounded base, a tall spout, archaic designs along the rim with a lid bearing the artist's signature. The handle is "mokko" shaped referring to the Japanese Quince fruit.

The base is a lotus with lotus flowers on the stem and lotus cup at the top. Minor lacquer wear but in fabulous condition for its Meiji Period C.1890 age. 12" tall and 6" wide.

The tetsubin, with handle, measures about 7 3/4" high x 6 1/2" in diameter, and weights 58 ounces. The bronze lid is signed "Ryubundo". The condition is excellent/perfect, and it can still be used. This kettle's exterior has a beautiful dark brown patina. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

On Hold This is a small but very beautiful little vase from the Meiji Era. It is highly detailed and except for the leaves and branches, it was done in the basse-taille styl. The glowing cobalt color is even more intense in person. best in the last image. This vase stands just 2 1/2 inches tall and is 1 3/4 inches wide. It has silver rims and is signed on the bottom Kawaguchi Bunzaeoman.
