Meiji (1868-1912) Japanese Bronze Peacock & Peahen Standing on Rock Okimono

It is 17.85 inches (45.5 cm) tall by 12 inches (30.8 cm) wide. It is 18.9 Lb.

It is in good condition with no repair, except the peahen is missing her crest and her tail is bent at the end. The flower branch between the rocks is loose. There are also small chips at the flower petals. There are small chips and cracks at the base...

Antique Japanese low bronze suiban, or shallow tray to be filled with suiseki or viewing stones, sand and bonsai. It has an interesting shape with sides decorated by waves and sea shells. The feet are also sea shells. Size: 2" height, 14.25" length

This is an indigo dyeing cotton kimono used in Kyoto. As for this, cotton is spun by hand. This cotton is thick. This is dyed with a beautiful natural indigo plant. This indigo plant is a good indigo plant cultivated in Kyoto. This has a few stains to a chest and a collar, but does not stand out. This is the very good state that does not include damage. A pleasure craft of solid burled wood covered in clear, black and red lacquer with inlayed mother of pearl designs which opens up to be a picnic box. The fore-peak is removable and opens to hold chopsticks. The upper cabin is a sake bottle, the roof a large plate, the the lower cabin food and rice storage. The aft holds 6 small plates, and the structure all can be removed to reveal the food storage in the hold. It is roughly 20 x 8-1/2 x 11 inches (50 x 21 x 28 cm)...

Incredible attention to detail defines this large Pagoda entirely gilded in gold. It is 32 inches (81.5 cm) tall, 16 inches (41.5 cm) square at the base and in excellent condition. This would have been displayed in a Butsuma as a reliquary container. Both upper and lower doors open to reveal gold lined chambers in which the Buddhist objects could be stored. Beautiful Japanese antique wedding kimono made of chirimen silk (crepe) and decorated all over with a scene of a river and blossoming plum trees in a rural pavilion setting, the design is done in a paste resist with a delicate blending of colors, silk embroidered details are accented with extensive use of gold thread and small areas of shibori technique. The kimono is lined in a salmon color silk and padded along the hem and edges of sleeves. Meiji Period. Size: 63" high x 51" wide

An important Vase decorated with the imperial symbols of 16 petal chrysanthemum and Go-shichi Nobori Kiri among over-glaze bamboo and floral designs by Ito Tozan I enclosed in the original signed wooden box. A pair of Japanese Edo Period scroll paintings by the painter Sumiyoshi Hiroyuki (1755-1811) , one of a dragon in the clouds and another of a tiger in a bamboo thicket, skillfully painted in sumi ink on silk and signed by the artist. The painter, Hiroyuki was as disciple of the painter, Hiromori and a of successor of the Sumiyoshi School which worked primarily for the Shogunate of Edo Period...

There are many places named Hakuryuji in Japan, so it is difficult ot be specific, but near his home of Hokkaido, and a place he would have passed through is a Hakuryuji in mountainous and rural Akita prefecture...
